Almost 9 Months

Can it be almost nine months ago, that I had this beautiful little girl? She wasn't due until June 9th. She was going to be delivered by Cesarean June 2. She had other plans. She is the sweetest thing.

She loves to:
"talk" to Mary-Kate (she calls her something, we don't know what. She says it the same way every time though.)
laugh
crawl
get into MK's stuff
get into anyone's stuff
help me unfold laundry
walk around furniture
play with her toys
smile

Sweet Thing

Getting teeth is a tough job

Deciding on what to do next

I give up on the monthly signs. She snatches them now.

You are such a blessing sweet girl!

She is in 9 month clothes, wears a #3 diaper, only weighs around 17 pounds (a lightweight) and slept through the night 2 days in a row this week. She got her first tooth also and is very proud of it this week! She also moved up to the big girl class "step up" room this week. It was hard on me, but she loved it. Currently she is helping me plan Mary-Kate's 5th birthday party! I tear up just thinking about it.

Lately

Mady loves her Big Sis!

Mary-Kate draws the cutest things to surprise me! (She is getting good.)

She drew me

It is never dull at our house. Mary-Kate has been drawing so much lately. Her artwork is so cute! Mady is always laughing. MK can just look at her and she starts laughing. She has a loud belly laugh. (So funny for such a little girl.) She wants to be so big like her sister. It is amazing how she tries to be near MK at all times. Mady is definitely growing on MK. It took her awhile, but she is over the jealous phase and truly loves Mady. We knew she would come around.

I am 34 today

Today is my birthday. I few fast facts about me. I was a preemie. I weighed 4lbs and 3 oz. I was born two months early.

One of my best friends got me the neatest gift. She got me this necklace. (Actually one like it. I took this picture from the website.) It is a beautiful color. It is made from recycled magazines. I would have never known if she hadn't told me. Go here to learn more. It is helping to empower women in Uganda. I feel pretty "green, " too for recycling.

Can We Eat Ducks?

MK is really interested in drawing, writing, and "reading." The other day she wanted to know how to spell the sentence "Can we eat ducks?" I told her since she was asking a question, she needed a question mark at the end of it. She told me, that she knew all about those. Check hers out. The 2nd picture is an angel in the sky with twinkling stars. The 3rd picture represents Awana. She loves her Cubbies Club.

I have gotten lots of books for MK. (No surprise since I am a librarian.) I have gotten her guided reading books that are levelized, also. We are working on site words. She knows her ABC's and the sounds each letter makes. Often though she wants to study the pictures and "read" the story from those. I encourage it because I just want her excited about school and reading.

She loves the Llama Llama books by Ann Dewdney. If you haven't read these, try them. They are so stinkin' cute! They help with rhyming words and have such a good message to them.

Way Back When-sday

MK surprised me the other day by sitting in Mady's high chair. Today I told her I wanted to take her picture. I had some blog material. 5 years sure goes by fast!

Cowgirl Mady

My Mom found this miniature Rocking Horse for Mady for Christmas. She loves sitting on it. If you pinch the ear it plays music. Just perfect for her size.

Home Today

Our Snow last week!
This one's face says it all

Getting into everything

Ready...Set..
There she goes

We are home today. Mary-Kate is achy and has had fever. She has complained of a headache. So we are home taking it easy today and waiting on our 8 inch snow tonight. I worked yesterday from 7:45AM to 9PM for due to a regular school day and then Parent/Teacher conferences. I was up all night with MK. My middle name is TIRED. Mady is much better.

A Battle and I Won

On Friday when I picked Mady and Mary-Kate up from daycare, Mady's teacher said she had a fever. I got her home and checked and it was 99. I figured she was getting teeth. She was fine all day Saturday. At 3 AM Sunday morning, everything changed. She had a fever of 103. I got it down some, but once the meds wore off it was back. We went to the doctor. MK had a sinus infection. Mady was diagnosed with tonsillitis. That is unheard of in a child her age. Well, in the office her fever was 104. Their pediatrician told me what to do to get it down, changing some dosages and interchanging two different fever reducers. I did it and it went down for 8 hours. She got chills. Turned purple. Scared me to death. Then the fever came back. The antibiotics and Baby Advil is working today. She is much much better. She got on a lot of prayer chains too. He is the Great Physician.
