Update on Prayer Requests

The couple I mentioned about on Sunday are still at UAMS. Shaina has not opened her eyes yet. She has responded to few things though. There is hope. She has a broken ankle and pelvis. Please keep praying. She and her husband are both 30 years old. Prayer is a powerful.

I hope you all are having a good start to your week.

We are just counting down the days until Madelyn is here.

Mary-Kate talks to her everyday and pats her. Madelyn always kicks for her when she hears her sister's voice. I can tell she already loves her big sister. She does not do this for everyone.

I haven't blogged very much lately. I am just trying to keep up with the day to day demands of life. It often doesn't grant me much time to write. I will do better soon.

Emergency Prayer Request

A friend of mine called me this morning before church to ask me to pray and get her friend on a prayer list immediately.

Shawn and Shana Harris dropped their young children off at a relatives house on Friday night so that they could have a date night. On the way back they were in a horrible car accident. Both are in UAMS fighting for their lives. The woman has a 50/50 chance of surviving. She is in a coma.

A parent's biggest fear is their child being sick or being taken. A child's biggest fear is losing their parents.

I don't know this couple, but it has touched my heart and they need us. Please pass this along and get them on a prayer list please.

We need a miracle here.

Fun in Little Rock

I hope everyone had a fun weekend! We sure did. We had a little family reunion. We haven't gotten together since Thanksgiving. Here are a few of our pictures.

MK taking time out to pose for me

My husband's sister is holding her daughter. The other two kids belong to Thara's other sister. You can pick out MK.

Madelyn's drapes

This is the way I will keep them.

Everything has been going great! Time is flying by. It is almost the end of school. MK is sooo ready to meet her sister. She has a sibling class coming up in May. I told her the belly button trick. The only problem is she wants to check my belly button in public. I had to explain that that is a home activity. No one wants to see a bare belly! Four year olds are something else!

Wise Beyond Her Years

On Monday I had a doctor's appointment. Next week I will begin my 8th month of pregnancy. Don't have a whole lot of time left. About 7 weeks. I am still feeling great. The doctor was pleased with how I am progressing. I have only gained 20 pounds. I am very happy about this considering I gained well over 50 with MK.

We are getting so excited at our house. My drapes came in. I will post a picture soon. They really complete the room.

My school is wanting to do a shower for me. I don't want one because they threw a huge one for me with MK. I saved so much of her stuff I really don't need anything. So we compromised. I am letting the have a "sprinkle." That seemed to make everyone happy. We will have cake and punch. People don't have to bring a gift at all, they can stop in and visit.

Mary-Kate had her 4 year old shots this week too. These are the ones that are required before Kindergarten. We are still a year off from Kindergarten, but the clinic I take her to recommended going ahead with it. We decided to tell her about the appointment and what was going to happen ahead of time. She was fine with it. I told her that her friends had these shots when they turned four. I said, "You are a big girl, when you get these." She asked me if it would hurt. I told her that they probably would. So the day of the appointment arrived. She had a well baby visit first. Her pediatrician was so pleased with her growth and progress. He asked her questions that she answered well. She walked and hopped for him. He checked her ears and throat. Finally the suspense was killing her. She said, "Can I just have my shot now?" I was so upset thinking about all of this. My baby is getting her last shots until she is twelve. How did she get so big all of a sudden. Then the nurse comes in and administers the shots. MK barely cried. She whimpered for a second. They gave her suckers. She was ready to go home. There was no kicking, screaming, or crying. I was so relieved. She said, "I am a big kid now Mama." That she is. She had no reaction to the shots.

Later that night I said, "Mary-Kate, how did you get so big?" She replied, "Mom what you really mean is how did I get so smart." I tried to not giggle. So I said, " You are so right, how did you get so smart?" She said, "From taking naps at school." So there you have it. I need to start taking naps I will get smarter!

Happy Easter!

I wish everyone a Happy Easter! Every Sunday, our worship is wonderful and special at church. It was even more special today! Let's make it a point to share the good news with someone new this week.

This weekend has been fun spending time with friends and family. Mary-Kate spent yesterday afternoon at the farm with my parents. When she got home, Thara's parents came over to play with her and dye Easter eggs. She has had a blast to say the very least.

She called this painting eggs

Decorating (How she got paint on her elbow is beyond me.)

The basket on the right, they made at school. These were the eggs she found on her hunt.

Finished product after "painting" the eggs

Our Family

MK wasn't feeling it for this picture. Actually there was a stray cat tickling our legs. She is like her Mama. If she isn't happy, it shows all over her face. Ha!

Hunting Eggs

I love this one!

Save the Date

My niece Mallory is getting married out of state in June. I won't be able to travel to attend. They are having a reception in the area in July. I am so happy that I will be able to attend that. Check out the video she made about their big day.
