This week has been wild. I had Parent/Teacher Conferences on Tuesday. (I worked from 7:30AM to 9PM.) The perk was having Friday off. So I went to MK's Halloween party at her school this morning. I was the only parent there. I stayed for a little while. The kids looked so cute dressed up. Mary-Kate is going to be Cinderella for Halloween. My friend wanted her to be Dora, but that wasn't what MK wanted to do. My sister- in- law sent us this costume for her to wear. We aren't into witches, but we are into free. She looked pretty cute in this.

Back to my old self
I am feeling much better! Mary-Kate and I are still coughing. Can't seem to get rid of that. We are getting excited about her Halloween party at her school. We are getting our treats ready. We will be carving our pumpkins soon. Can't wait to post more pictures. Just writing a quick note to let you know I am still here and doing much better.

Sick of Being Sick
Mary-Kate is getting over Bronchitis. I took her to the doctor last week. I didn't have to wait in the waiting room very long, but there were so many sick kids there. I prayed over and over that I wouldn't get sick or MK worse. Then a guy dressed in camouflage, sat down next to me with his daughter. He said that his daughter wasn't very sick. She just had a high fever. (I thought to myself, you have got to be kidding me. I was sitting in a location away from a lot of folks so I wouldn't be exposed to too much.)He let me know he came out of the deer woods and his wife sent him straight to the doctor's office. Now I am sick. Oh my mercy sick. No swine flu though. I don't have fever. I have coughed until I throw up. I have sneezed my head off. There is not much I can take at this point in my pregnancy. I can use a throat lozenge, gargle salt water, and lather up in Vicks. Last night I coughed so much I have popped a blood vessel in my eye. I could write a poor Kelley song right now.
Miserable is how I am especially at night. Mary-Kate is my new night owl. She hears me in the bathroom and holds back my hair while I am hugging the toilet. I don't have a stomach bug and it isn't the baby. It is all of the drainage. I never get sick. My immune system is awesome. Or at least it was. I am a wreck emotionally. I am not sleeping past 12:30 AM in the morning. Once I am up, I can't fall back asleep. I feel like I am in a nightmare. I have been working on top of all of this. I took a group of over 100 6th and 7th graders skating on Friday because they met their reading goals. Exhaustion my friends. The kids had a blast.
Please pray for me that this doesn't turn into pneumonia.

Barn Yard Friends and Petting Zoo
MY FIRST FIELD TRIP
Okay I get the worst Mother of the year award today! My wonderful husband gets best Daddy of the year award. Mary-Kate had her first field trip today with her school. She went to the Barn Yard Friends and Petting Zoo on Petit Jean Mountain. Her Daddy went with her. They had a train, trolley, petting zoo, pumpkin patch, playground, and pony ride (although it was horses, not ponies.)I don't know how long this has been there, but I never knew about it. She had so much fun!
Look at her day!

Today, I got Mary-Kate an appointment at our local clinic. She could not stop coughing. She gets choked on all of the mucus. I had had ENOUGH! So they checked her and she has Bronchitis. She got an antibiotic. It has been a miracle drug for her. She is barely coughing. She has 2 more days to take it. I am a very happy Mommy. Now I only had to sit in the doctor's office and wait for 45 minutes. That is not too bad. I have sat for hours with her before. Unfortunately I have a head cold and a running nose now. Hey, but no fever. There were so many kids in there. I am thankful that MK had a fairly "normal" thing going on. MK told the doctor today that she was "sick of being sick."

I am getting really excited about my next doctor's appointment in Nov. We will hear the heartbeat. Right now, I wouldn't even know that I was pregnant. I feel great! Such a vast difference from the first time. I love Mary-Kate and I would do it all again to have such a wonderful girl!
Hopefully this weekend we can go to a pumpkin patch! My friend Darla called (same one who we went to the circus and fair with) and wants to take the girls next weekend to the pumpkin patch. We are debating on whether to take her baby or not. I told her I think that between the two of us we could handle it, but if it is cold, we won't.
This week at school, my advisory is putting out the very first school newspaper. They are all pumped about it. I am taking over a hundred kids skating on Friday because they met their reading goals. And the book fair is coming. Parent Teacher Conferences are next week! This year is flying by.
Speaking of flying by, I came across an old picture of MK. It makes me smile.

Go Hogs!
Okay I am a true Razorback fan, but I did think we were going to lose the game today to Florida. Then as I was watching the game, my heart beamed with pride. I thought we were going to win the game. We were so CLOSE. Hey, but we keep getting better every week. That has to count for something.
Mary-Kate has a bad cough. I called the clinic on Thursday to let them know that I didn't plan on bringing her in, but I wanted to know if there was anything I could do to get rid of this cough. She wasn't sleeping or eating. Okay when you are in the first trimester of pregnancy, you are so tired. Can you imagine how I felt with a young lady (3 and 1/2) who wasn't sleeping? OH MY WORD!
Well while I was waiting for the nurse to review her chart. (With the sickness in our area, she told me to not bring her in),( MK wasn't running a fever) the clinic called me to tell me I had an infection. I had lab work done on Tuesday at my appointment. I wasn't feeling myself, but I didn't want to complain since I wasn't throwing up (for 5 months straight everyday with MK). So she and I both got medicine and hopefully are on the mend. I am uncomfortable taking anything this soon, but they have assured me the benefit will out way the risk.
Praying for a quick recovery for both of us!
Now for a question for all of you bloggers out there. My school is going to provide the H1N1 vaccine for students as well as the flu shot. Our staff will get the flu shot, but only the pregnant ones will be able to get the H1N1 vaccine. How do you feel about the vaccine? I understand why it was produced so quickly, yet that is another reason it bothers me. I got a long list from the doctor of medicines I shouldn't take this first trimester. So I was floored that the clinic recommended getting the vaccine right away.
In the passed, when I have gotten a flu shot, I got the flu. Crazy I know, but it has happened to me.
Please tell me what you think.

Surprised! Pleasantly
Guys, it has been a rough two weeks! My aunt passed away and then a sweet woman (96 years young) in my church passed away. I had two funerals and visitations in a week. It was really tough on me. Since my brother died, funerals are not easy for me. I know that both ladies are in Heaven, but it is still hard on the ones left behind.
Surprised?
So were we! I am excited. I have been taking prenatal vitamins for over a year.
I had my first doctor's appointment today. Everything looks good so far. I will go back in a month and hopefully hear a heartbeat. I am doing a lot of praying. Oh and about the cramping. That is natural in women who have had c-sections. That was good to know. I had Preeclampsia with MK. I was on serious bed rest for 4 weeks before she was born.
Mary-Kate doesn't know. I won't tell her until it is obvious. If something were to happen, I could tell you all. It would crush me to have to tell her. She wants a baby brother and a baby sister like Dora the Explorer's Super Babies. I am early telling my news I know. I should have waited, but I had to tell someone.
Now, I do not want to get graphic here. Two weeks ago, I had stomach cramps that took me to the ground. I was so scared because I have 800 students in my school. Since I am the library/media specialist, I see all of them. I was fearing the worst. Then the best news ever happened....
Are you ready for this...

Yeah October
Loving this cooler weather! I can't wait to break out the sweaters. Hope you all had a nice week. Mine was rough. I have some news to post about, but I will wait a little while on it.

This weekend, we went to Little Rock to visit family. My husband's 2 sisters live in LR. We celebrated 2 birthdays today. Connor turned 13 on Sept. 28th and Isabella turned 2 on Sept. 29th. We had a family birthday party. Here is our day in pictures.
