Mady doesn't have any bumps today. Not thinking it was hand foot and mouth now. I am not the doctor though. She never had the blisters to go along with that. So glad. She has smiled today!

I Am Still Here

Hey Guys!

I haven't been a very good blogger this summer. Let me fill you in. A few weeks ago, MK had a horrible sinus infection. ( I had her in the doctor's office a few weeks before that because she had a high fever. It was a virus. SO needless to say, this summer she has been sick twice.)

Mady had tonsillitis in May before her birthday. She got it again about 3 weeks ago. Now she has hand, foot, and mouth. (So this summer, she has been sick 3 times.) I have gone to the doctor every single week since I have been off work with someone. I am tired with a capital T.

We have had a memorable summer.

We have:

• had playdates
• made trips to Hogwild (Like a Chuckie Cheese)
• attended 4 birthday parties
• made trips to the aquarium
• painted pottery
• tried new restaurants
• been to the movies
• had a 1 year photo shoot
• had swimming lessons
• gone swimming at a water park, Mt. Nebo, and Honey's house
• gone to two Vacation Bible Schools
• attended soccer camp

Next week I go back to work. Hopefully everyone will be healthy this school year!

MK will be in Kindergarten. Thank goodness I am not putting Mady in daycare for the first time. It might send me over the edge having to deal with both of those things for the first time.

Do You Recognize These Two?

Mary-Kate has gone to two Vacation Bible School's this summer. I guess I am following after my parent's footsteps. They sent me to every Bible school around in the summers. I was friends with everyone of different denominations. We are members of a small country Church of Christ, but we visit my brother's Baptist church a lot. I know that might surprise some of you. I am friends with everyone. MK does Awana there and VBS. My nephew is a praise and worship leader there. He is precious! When he sings, it really touches my heart. My nephew has a job at a church camp this summer doing the music. He plans to go to Hill Song School in Australia. Way to go kid!!! It all started with my mom making us bring talent to her house at Christmas. Very few of us have talent. God is using Collin's voice for His increase. It amazing to see Him working in Collin and touching lots of kids lives.

VBS this week was called a Block Buster VBS. Each night was a theme night.

This night was Action Hero Night

Just in case you didn't know who was behind the glasses. The treats on Mady's tray are like cheetos, but they are actually veggies. Pretty cool huh!

VBS shirts said "Jesus Loves Me, I am Precious in His Sight."

So true. Pastor Mike gave Mady this shirt. So she had to wear it one night!

Another night was Westerns

MK has this down. I told her I didn't think she needed the stick horse at VBS. She told me it was apart of the costume. If she didn't wear it, she would just be Dorothy in a hat. Too funny. She won!

Last night was Comedies. I didn't get a picture of that.

MK woke up in the middle of the night with fever. I figured she might have strep throat too. Mady had it last week. Good news. Just a sinus infection. Hopefully she will get over it soon.

Not sure about soccer still. We have a little time to make up our minds.

Soccer or Bust

Mary-Kate has shown an interest in playing soccer this fall! There is a British Soccer camp going on in our area. I thought what a good way to see if she is serious or not. Let me just say, we are taking the first mini session in the AM because it is too HAWT to take in the evening. Really is too HAWT to take in the AM. Plus she is going to VBS.

Not sure if she still wants to play this fall yet. The jury is out!

We went to eat at an Italian restaurant today for lunch. She loved that. My Mom was there too! Of course we sat together. She was having a meeting with fellow teachers.

Then we went to a pottery place to pick out something to paint. She picked a pig. I picked a tile. They will call us in about a week when it is finished.

4th of July Recap

For the weekend, we went to Branson. It is about 2 1/2 hours away. We took the kids to see the Chinese Acrobats. They were fabulous! The next day we went to Silver Dollar City. MK rode lots of rides. Both kids splashed in the water. We went to a dog show and rode the train. It was H-0-t there! We went to Branson Landing to eat at Joe's Crab Shack. Mady danced with the girls at the restaurant. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. She can get down to "Stayin Alive." Came home the next day. A whirlwind trip!

We have soccer camp and VBS to attend soon! MK is having a blast this summer! Hope you all had a happy 4th!

Today was Better

Our local library kicked off their summer reading program today! We stopped by to see what was going on. They had a magician there promoting reading. He had really good program for kids. Mary-Kate was his assistant. She loved it. Mady did too!

Hope you all have a Happy 4th! We are headed to Branson for shopping and of course, Silver Dollar City!

Parenting is Hard

This has been a really difficult week!

Mary-Kate went to Bible School this week with a friend. They were in a car accident on their way there on Wed. The Mom of her friend was the driver. That was the scariest phone call to get as a parent. Everyone was okay. The car looked awful though. Just the thought of what could have happened is just too much.

Thursday evening, Mady climbed on a kitchen chair. I turned around and she was standing on it. I ran over to get her and she let go. She fell on her back and head. Oh was that awful! I took her to the emergency room. Everything was fine! God sure was protecting them.

The only good news is that Kimberley and I are planning a play date with our kiddos! That will be a blast!
