Snow and Ice

In Arkansas, the weather can change in 5 minutes. Today it really did.
First we had freezing rain. Now it is snowing. I mean snowing hard. Mary-Kate thinks she is building a snowman soon. She and her daddy just might. I will watch from the window because the last thing I need is to fall.

Update on my Dad. My parents went to Little Rock last night just in case the weather got bad because they did not want to miss my Dad's doctor's appointment. They arrived at the urology clinic and it was closed people. But the doctor was there and let them in. He did treat the cancer cells in the bladder. Yet, he was not able to do all of the scans to see if and where the cancer has spread. That was a bummer. My Dad's primary doctor in my hometown will be able to do these scans. So not all was lost. Hopefully everything will be fine. My Dad is a fighter and wants to fight and beat this thing. I know he can! I will be a prayer warrior. My parents decided to try to make it home. They had quite an adventure. It was sleeting. My mom said that her windshield wipers weren't working properly either. They had to pull off to de ice the car. They just called and had made it home. I am so relieved. No one needs to drive if they don't have to.

Madelyn is really growing. I bought she and Mary-Kate big and lil sister shirts on Etsy today. I can't wait to see them. Mary-Kate is really growing and that makes me cry. (It's just the hormones, I'm sure. She is just getting so tall and working so hard at her school. I am so proud of her.)

Things Happen in 3s

This week has been something else. My Dad has been in the hospital with an infection. Small things land him in the hospital. He is now home. He had a doctor's appointment that didn't go well. His PSA was off the chart. So he will have several scans and procedures this Friday to see where the cancer is so the doctors can take action. My Dad is tough. Please pray for him.

One of my best buddies that I work with had an emergency hysterectomy this week. This was scary, but she is cancer free. I made her a get well basket. Our school is taking meals to she and her family. She will be out 3 to 6 weeks. I miss her already.

Strep throat is going around the daycare. Mary-Kate has been sick, but so far we don't have this.
I use a smart board at my school. I love it. I depend on it. The bulb was going out. I had the tech look at it and it blew up inside the projector. So we had to send it off.

Major Bummers this week.

Sometimes life throws us a curve ball. I am working really hard at how to handle my responses as to be a good example to Mary-Kate. I don't want to over react or worry before there is anything to worry about. That is a hard one.

Let Go and Let God is what I am trying to do.

Little Miss Madelyn is growing by leaps and bounds. She is kicking a lot. I am definitely growing! My sister asked me to send her a belly picture. I did and she said I looked good. (It was a clothed belly.)

Randomness and Nesting

We have been busy lately with dancing lessons, pajama party at school (for MK not me at a middle school), baby room decorating.

My husband is the one nesting this time around. It is hilarious. There are home improvement projects that I have been waiting for him to do for a while and now with the baby, they are all done. Our house has great closets, but we weren't utilizing them very well. We turned one closet in the hall into a toy closet. I was so excited about this because our house has been one big toy box. I didn't know where this baby was going to get to put her things. Her closet was filled with MK's toys. Now both girls can share this toy closet and toys are up off the floor in totes and tubs all organized. See MK is our dumper. She gets out a tub and dumps the whole thing out to see what she wants to play with. (She does pick these up at the end of play. Thank goodness.)

We also tackled closets in our office. It is important to weed through things every now and again. Which we haven't done. I made enough space to put things in there that had been in the hall closet. Yeah. I love getting rid of clutter.

Things have gotten so expensive in 4 years. I can't get over how much baby bedding is. Yikes. I am looking for great deals right now. I know a Branson trip is in our future because I need to get some baby clothes. I saved a lot of MK's clothes, but a lot of things I passed along to others.

We are getting excited and praying all goes well in these last couple of months.

Drum Roll Please...

I had my first ultrasound today! The baby looks terrific. The heartbeat is at 158.

Mary-Kate is excited to announce that we are having a girl! That's right, we will have two princesses at our house. The gender test didn't work on me. I am thrilled with the news. I will share a little more later.

Cell phones vs. Bible

A fellow teacher sent me this today and I wanted to share it with you!

Cell phone vs . Bible :

Ever wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several time a day?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to Kids as gifts?

What if we used it when we traveled?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

This is something to make you go....hmm...where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing.

Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being

disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.

Makes you stop and think 'where are my priorities? And no dropped calls!
