Revelation

My Beth Moore Bible study has been on the Book Of Revelation. I don't know about you, but I have always been fascinated about this book. In the times we are in, it is really nice to read about the 2nd coming of Jesus.

In the study, we are supposed to pray everyday that God will disclose himself to us. He is moving in a big way in my life. Things don't just happen coincidentally. I have found myself uniquely placed in situations to help others lately. I have been worried about finances and I got a check in the mail recently for a reimbursement. I totally wasn't expecting it. (The worry: we almost pay $1000 a month in childcare.)

I was so afraid that I had missed the deadline for Awana again for MK. I was studying the book of Revelation on my own. I went to my brother's church to hear my nephew Collin lead the Praise and Worship and not only did I not miss the Awana deadline, but I also was able to join a ladies Bible class on the Book of Revelation. And it was a Beth Moore study. Doesn't get better than that.

I am working on getting rid of the negativity that surrounds me. We have been listening to contemporary Christian music in the mornings in the car. It is amazing how that starts our day out right. Even though times are tough, we are blessed.

Proofs

MK has been working on an ALL ABOUT ME unit

We are going be working on this, this weekend

I have a few pictures to share from the girls' photo shoot. It is in a proof book. I have some hard decisions to make.

Mary-Kate has been saying some really funny things lately. At school she was supposed to tell her teacher something she is really good at. She said, "Brushing my teeth." I asked MK why she told her teacher that because she does so many other things well. She said, "Mom I couldn't tell her everything I do good, just the little things. It would take all day."
We got a new Tinkerbell movie for MK. I missed a part in the movie and asked MK what was happening. She said that I would know when we get there.

It is never dull with these too!

We are also going to be watching the big game! Hope my former student, who is the freshman kicker keeps up the good work!

Blog Award

I received my very first blog award!!

Thank you so much Kimberley for this award! I am honored.

The Rules:
1. Answer this question: If you had the chance to go back and change one thing in your life, would you and what would it be?
2. The second thing you have to do is, pick 6 people and give them this award. You then have to inform the person that they have gotten this award.
3. The third and final thing is, thank the person who gave you the award.

The answer:
If I had a chance to go back and change one thing in my life it would be my entire 19th year. I thought I was so smart and that my parents didn't know anything. I got mixed up with the wrong group of friends for a while and got hurt. I wish I had more sense then and more self esteem.

I would give this award to:
1. Jacquie for being such a sweet person and an inspiration to me. She was one of the very first blog friends I made. I would love to meet her in real life.
2. Kimberley because it is so awesome to reestablish friendships from long ago. She is a sweetheart. Her posts are always so sweet and thoughtful of others. I love reading about her boys. It is neat that our kids are around the same age.
3. Laura is fun. You can tell by her blog that she has fun, is a great mom, and loves the Lord.
4. Abby because I would so fit into her family. They are a hoot and remind me of my family. She and her sister have such a neat relationship.
5. Judy for her great posts about Jesus, her church, and her family.
6. Becky, who doesn't live too far away from me. She is a prayer warrior. Her posts are honest and so real. She is a doll.

Thanks again Kimberely!

All of these ladies are inspiring to read about!

Here We Go

Mady and I woke up at 5AM on Sat. She had a horrible rash all over. I thought at first she had gotten too hot. Mary-Kate had very sensitive skin as a baby. She had eczema. It was awful. Mady's breakout wasn't like that. It looked like measles. I took her to the Sat. clinic and they said she had a virus. She has had no symptoms except for this rash. Her pediatrician said she would look worse before she would get better. Boy was he not kidding. She isn't contagious anymore he said. Today she looks blistered. She has been super fussy. Sure hope she gets well soon. I feel so helpless.

Mary-Kate got up with us this morning at 2AM. She said, "Mom what has happened to our baby?" She wanted to help rock Mady to sleep. My husband has been such a big help. Glad he can entertain MK while I love on Mady and try to make her comfortable.

Awana and Updates

I wanted Mary-Kate to be a Cubbie last year and it didn't work out. I felt bad about it all year. So I decided this year, this was something that she and I could do together. She was so excited. Her first night they made a name bracelet, colored their Cubbie Bear picture, learned rules and procedures, learned scripture, had a snack, and played games. I was so exhausted after it was over. I work with 6th and 7th graders everyday. It has been a long time since I have been in a room full of 4 year olds. We had a couple of 3 year olds too. We had 10 kids total. My brother volunteers too and works with middle school aged kids.

I have to study up on all of the songs and salutes that were done. Ha!

I have had some post pardom things to work through. I should have taken a leave at the beginning of the year and I didn't. I have good reasons though, but still it was so hard putting my 8 week old in daycare. She is doing great! I go to she her at lunch time to nurse her. Yep, I am hanging in there with that. Sorry if it is TMI. She has formula too, now and is doing fine with that.

We got to look at our proofs on-line from the photo shoot today. They are darling.
Can't wait for the weekend to spend more time with my girls and Thara!

Birthdays, Sleepover, and Pies

This week we had 3 birthdays in my family: my Mom, sister-in-law, and my husband. We took my parents to Cracker Barrel. We went to my brother and sister-in-law's church with them on Sunday and then went out to eat. For Thara's birthday, I bought a coconut creme pie and a possum pie. We must stop the eating.

.

Last weekend, Mary-Kate spent the night with her Nana and Papa. I know this is hard to believe, but she has never spent the night away from home. She never wanted to. She thought she was so big getting to do this. She had a ball and didn't even call us in the middle of the night to come get her.

Our photo shoot was on Wednesday. The girls did so great! They giggled. The photographer got some great shots of them. He also took some of me with the girls. That was for Thara's birthday. I can't wait to get them back so I can post them.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Answers

  • Mary-Kate had so much hair. I could style it at 5 weeks old. Mady has hair, but not that much.
  • Mary-Kate's hair was black. Mady's was red. MK's eyes are dark brown. Mady's are light brown and often look green.
  • Mary-Kate never cried. Mady cried a lot. She has grown out of it though.
  • At 3 months MK weighed 15 pounds, Mady just 12.4 pounds.
  • Mary-Kate wasn't a good napper. She would sleep all night, if the night started at midnight. Mady can sleep from 7 PM to 6 AM. You can just lay Mady in her bed and she falls asleep. MK was endless rocking. :-)
  • MK was a picky eater. Mady wants to eat from my plate now. ( I don't let her yet.)
  • MK was loud. Mady is jabbers, but she does it quietly. It is just different.
  • Both girls loved bath time
  • Both girls favored Mommy over anyone
  • Both girls have captured our hearts
Both always wore clothes ahead of the month they were in. Ex. If MK was 3 months old, she wore 6 month clothes, so does Mady. MK did because of weight. Mady does because of length.

Who's Who of Baby Pictures

I promised I would post pictures of both babies so you could see if you could tell them apart. Unfortunately when you see pictures of me with them, you automatically know who's who. Someone looks way younger with one over the other.

This is me leaving the hospital with MK

Just a 7 question quiz. You might be able to see why I don't think they look much a like.

Look Who's Home

My dad was released from rehab today. He has cancer and it has spread to his bones. He is in the fight of his life. He is starting chemo again on Tuesday. It is really special that he was released today. Today is my Mom's birthday. My house was the first place he wanted to go. We took them to eat at Cracker Barrel. It bothered me a lot that people who were not handicapped had parked in the front spots. Where we had to park was ridiculous for him to have to walk in from. He made it though. We took a few rest breaks. Then they came over to my house for cake and ice cream. We took some pictures. Here goes...

MK was thrilled to have Paw Paw at her house. They are best buddies!

Mady was making faces. She was trying to hold back tears. She needed her Mommy.

This picture means more to me than you will ever know.
Have a great Labor Day weekend! I am going to get lots of hugs in!
