Jazzed

We are already starting the 3rd week of school! Can't believe how fast everything goes!
Mary-Kate starts ballet, tap, and jazz this week! In a couple of weeks Awana will start. I am glad that not all of our activities have started right together or we couldn't do it all. She decided to wait until spring to do soccer. I am thrilled about this! I tried not to sway her decision, but I was really glad. I think we (parents) over schedule our kids. They need time to play and be kids.

Mary-Kate rides the bus from her school to mine everyday! She is loving this. I like having her with me in the afternoons. I love hearing about her day!

Mady is the oldest in her class. She will move up soon due to her age though. She already thinks she is big stuff! Too bad the baby phase doesn't last longer!

I have a lot of blogging material, I just haven't had time to share. Stay tuned!

Hope you all are having a great start to your week.

Kindergarten

Here's what I have learned about Kindergarten this week.
  • In science class, you make potions (experiments)
  • In math you get to count and measure
  • In centers, you get to play teacher
  • You must sit on your bottom in a chair (cool idea)
  • You have to listen to your teacher
  • You get to go to singing class (music)
  • Library is fun (this is good since her mom is a librarian)
  • PE is the best because you get to run a lot
  • You either get a tray or bring your lunch to school (we sport a cool lunchbox)
  • You get to learn Sign Language (one of the students n the class is deaf. She has an aide with her at all times. The kids didn't know any different. They think their new friends is shy. They think the aide is the Sign Language teacher for all of them.)
  • It is nice to make new friends, but comforting when you find your old ones on the playground.
  • Learning to read is fun too!

A New Step

These two melt my heart!

My oldest daughter will embark on a new adventure tomorrow! She had the last day at daycare and now she is a big Kindergartener! It was emotional for me because she has been going there from ages 5 months to 5 years. I love these ladies!

Mary-Kate did very well at her Kindergarten screening. She passed everything with flying colors. Her teacher is absolutely precious! She got Mrs. L. We had a meet and greet this week. Her teacher decorated the room in bugs. Mostly ladybugs. I took tons of pictures. Here are just a few to remember the day!

Sitting at her desk!

They have a class pet. I hope it doesn't go home with kids on weekends! Wouldn't survive our house!

I think she is all set for school!

Summer Vacay is Over for Me

I was back to work this week! It was tough getting back into the routine and having us out the door by 7:30 AM. We got MK's letter about Kindergarten this week. She goes for screening and a meet and greet this week. It is very exciting at our house. I am really getting emotional about her going to school. Don't get me wrong, she is soooo ready. I am not. Take a peek at what we have been up to.

We helped with a local mission this weekend called, Food on the Mount. We gave tons of food and school supplies away. We also had medical, eye, and dental, care available. There was a prayer tent and guides to help people find their way around. It was super fun and brought glory to the Lord. There were many activities for kids. Horsing riding was a blast for mine!

MK is such a great big sister

Mady loved the horses!

I love her expression in this one

I taught this man's son when he was in 1st grade and 4th. He is now 19 years old.
