Preschool Goals

I don't think I would be a successful Kindergarten student today. When I started Kindergarten I don't think I knew my letters or numbers. I could write my name. I could sing the ABC song. We played a lot. Today's pressures are something else. I got a list today from my daughter's school. Remember, she is 3 years old.

I am glad in my early days of teaching I was a first grade teacher so I can help her. Otherwise this is overwhelming and I might need to get her a tutor. Ha! We have our work cut out for us. Thank goodness Kindergarten is a year and 1/2 off.

You should hear her recite the pledge, it is precious.

You knew quite a bit of stuff. I was a first grade teacher when you were born. At three you could count, you knew many nursery rhymes, you could string beads, you knew your names. YOu will survive pre-school, just make it fun and not stressful.

WOW! Alise is concentrating on most of those things in Pre-K4. I think Pre-k3 is a little early for some of those things.

Wow! What a list. I am glad you posted it though because Lily doesn't go to preschool right now, and I work with her at night and this helps me a lot to know what to get her ready for, when she goes when she turns 4.

Wow, that is a lot of things for a 3 year old to know. I think it's overwhelming for the parents, let alone the child!

It does sound like a lot, but seriously, those wee ones are just like little sponges!! They learn so quickly and retain it!! Love that about them.

Shocker I know!... I am a Kindergarten teacher and most don't realize that we are reading and writing at the end of Kindergarten! If you ever need a tutor, you have one right down the road!! I would love to come over and help out!! I bet she's a hoot!

It is overwhelming if you look at the list. Just think...those little ones learn so much, so fast. You are such a good Mommy, she will have that list down before you know it!

Who knew preK-3 would be so hard, ha! Thanks for all of your sweet comments. These little ones are like sponges. She will be able to do all of these by Kindergarten I am sure. I just want her to have fun most of all! That's what I want her day to consist of, fun. They grow up too fast!
