Mary-Kate has a bad cough. I called the clinic on Thursday to let them know that I didn't plan on bringing her in, but I wanted to know if there was anything I could do to get rid of this cough. She wasn't sleeping or eating. Okay when you are in the first trimester of pregnancy, you are so tired. Can you imagine how I felt with a young lady (3 and 1/2) who wasn't sleeping? OH MY WORD!
Well while I was waiting for the nurse to review her chart. (With the sickness in our area, she told me to not bring her in),( MK wasn't running a fever) the clinic called me to tell me I had an infection. I had lab work done on Tuesday at my appointment. I wasn't feeling myself, but I didn't want to complain since I wasn't throwing up (for 5 months straight everyday with MK). So she and I both got medicine and hopefully are on the mend. I am uncomfortable taking anything this soon, but they have assured me the benefit will out way the risk.
Praying for a quick recovery for both of us!
Now for a question for all of you bloggers out there. My school is going to provide the H1N1 vaccine for students as well as the flu shot. Our staff will get the flu shot, but only the pregnant ones will be able to get the H1N1 vaccine. How do you feel about the vaccine? I understand why it was produced so quickly, yet that is another reason it bothers me. I got a long list from the doctor of medicines I shouldn't take this first trimester. So I was floored that the clinic recommended getting the vaccine right away.
In the passed, when I have gotten a flu shot, I got the flu. Crazy I know, but it has happened to me.
Please tell me what you think.

OMGoodness! I was wondering why you were commenting on my blog @ 1 AM!! Being pregnant AND having a child that doesn't sleep could not possibly be any fun!
I am not getting the flu shot or the N!H! vaccine. Neither is Alise. We'll just take our chances. The hospital where I work offers them to employess and I've never gotten one and I haven't had the flu (knock on wood, quick!) since I was probably in elementary school.
I watched the 4th quarter of the Ark v. Florida game yesterday and I was SOOO hoping that you guys would win! Ya'll were SO close!! We - however - played absolutely horrible!! If Ark is getting better, then I think we're getting worse!
Hope you're having a nice and relaxing weekend! Sounds like you deserve it.
OH my.. the H1N1 debate. I honestly do not know what I am going to do about it either. I've read articles.. and nothing seems to help.
Oh I wanted those Hogs to WIN! I don't intend to get the vaccine. I'm thinking, if everyone else is getting the shot no one will get sick, so I can't catch it from anyone, right? Ok, I know that's not practical, but I'm still not getting the shot. :)
I honestly can't give any advice on the flu shot. I got my regular flu shot last week, but they aren't even offering the H1N1 to people my age...and I'm not pregnant. I've had the flu two years in a row, and ever since, I've got the flu shot and have been well. I really think you and your OB should make the best decision for you and the health of your baby.
Hope you're both feeling well soon!
