My brother celebrated his 40th birthday on July 21, 2008. His wife had a huge birthday party for him. My husband, daughter, and I attended. One week later he was killed in a traffic accident. He was a police officer in Fort Worth. Because of gas prices he started driving his motorcycle to work. He was driving home from work when a car turned (didn't yield)right in front of him. He was hurt very badly, but the doctors thought they could "fix" him. He died. I can't believe it still. It is still too raw for me. He has a son aged 22 who was leaving for Iraq with the National Guard when the accident occurred. He has a 14 year old daughter and a daughter who just turned one. To say we were sick about this is an understatement. God pulled us through this. I am so glad that my entire family is faithful to the Lord. I don't know how people get through tragedies without Him. I miss my brother everyday. Somehow we have to learn to live with this hole in our hearts. We won't ever get over the loss. The above picture is of my brother meeting my daughter for the first time.

YEA!!! Girl I have been trying to comment for three days now. I'm so glad you're up and running.
I'm so sorry about your brother, he looks like such a fun, jovial guy. I know you were devastated and still are. I pray God will give you the peace that only he can give.
I LOVE your heirlooms. I read your blog to my sister and we laughted out loud about them being calendars. That is priceless.
I look forward to visiting you often. By the way, where in Arkansas are you from? We are in Newport. Northeast Arkansas.
We are in Russellville.
